Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information MBMS Podcast Studio collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. In short: we only use your details to reply to you and to work with you, and we never sell them.
Who we are
MBMS Podcast Studio is a podcast recording, production and marketing studio based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us about anything in this notice using the contact form.
What we collect
- Enquiries: when you use a contact form, we receive your name, email address and, if you give them, your company name, the service you’re interested in, a preferred day and time for a call, and your message.
- Waitlists: if you join a waitlist, such as the one for our playbook, we receive your email address.
- Client work: if we work together, we keep the contact details and project information we need to plan, record and deliver your podcast.
- Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t track you across other websites.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a call. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- To tell you when something you signed up for is ready, such as the playbook. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To deliver work we’ve agreed with you, and to keep records we’re required to keep. Our legal bases are our contract with you and our legal obligations.
We won’t add you to a marketing mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information. We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and our business, and they only process your information on our behalf:
- Web3Forms: sends the messages from our website forms to our inbox.
- Google: provides our email, and serves the fonts used on this website.
- Netlify: hosts this website.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as approved contract terms.
Some pages include videos from YouTube or players from Spotify. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and videos only load when you press play. Once you play an embedded video or episode, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need to reply and follow up, and delete them within two years if we don’t go on to work together. We keep client records for as long as the law requires, which for financial records is usually six years. Waitlist addresses are deleted when you unsubscribe or when the waitlist closes.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent where we rely on consent. To do any of these, send us a message through the contact form. We’ll reply within two working days, and complete your request within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
